Northeastern D'Amore-McKim uses an innovative assessment approach combining Kira Talent online assessment with optional peer interviews. Rather than traditional alumni-conducted interviews, Northeastern prioritizes evaluating your thinking, communication, and collaborative readiness through video and written responses, plus optional conversations with current MBA students.
The Kira Talent assessment is asynchronous and flexible—you respond to pre-recorded questions with video and written answers on your own schedule. This allows Northeastern to assess how you communicate and think without the pressure and artificiality of a traditional live interview. The optional peer interview gives you a chance to learn about student life from current students and show enthusiasm for the program.

Kira Talent Online Assessment
After submitting your application, you may be invited to complete a Kira assessment. You'll receive an email with a link. Typical assessment includes:
- 3-5 video questions (45 seconds to prepare, 3 minutes to answer)
- 2-3 written questions (brief written responses)
- Total time: 10-15 minutes
Questions assess communication skills, problem-solving approach, and thinking on key business topics. You complete assessment from any location with internet and a webcam. No re-takes are allowed, so take it seriously.
Optional Peer Interview
Select candidates may be invited for an optional 20-30 minute conversation with a current MBA student via Zoom. This is not required but is highly recommended. The peer interviewer assesses your genuine interest in McKim, collaboration readiness, and cultural fit. It's also your chance to learn about student life from someone who's living it.
Interview Evaluation: Both Kira assessment and peer interview (if completed) are considered in admissions decisions. Neither is mandatory, but participating strengthens your candidacy.
