How It Works

From first call to first semester — the KGC consultation process

Every KGC family goes through the same 8-step process. It starts with an honest assessment of whether studying abroad is even the right call for your child, and ends with them settled into their university halfway around the world. No surprises. No black boxes. No hidden commissions.

The 8 steps, in order

Some families spend 2+ years in the mentorship programme; others come in at Grade 11 and move quickly through applications. The steps are the same — only the pace changes.

STEP 1

Initial Consultation

60–90 minutes

You meet Dr. Karan Gupta in person in Mumbai or via video call. Dr. Karan reviews the student's academic profile, career interests, extracurriculars, family budget and destination preferences — and gives an honest read, including whether studying abroad is the right call at all. You leave with a preliminary career direction, an initial university shortlist direction and a clear next-steps plan.

STEP 2

Psychometric Assessment

1–2 weeks

The student takes three licensed instruments — MBTI, the Strong Interest Inventory and InterQuest. Dr. Karan personally interprets the combined results and maps them to 320+ career paths. You receive a written Career Direction Report that replaces guesswork with evidence. This is the foundation every later decision (universities, majors, applications) is built on.

STEP 3

University Shortlisting

2–3 weeks

Based on the career direction, academic profile, budget and preferences, Dr. Karan builds a balanced list of reach, target and safety universities across 60+ countries. There is no commission from any university — the list is driven by fit, not by partnerships. You review and approve the final list before anything moves forward.

STEP 4

Profile Building

6–24 months

For younger students (Grades 6–10) this is a 2-year mentorship programme. For Grades 11–12 it is more intensive — strategic internships, research projects, Olympiads, competitions and leadership positions that reinforce the career narrative. Progress is tracked with quarterly reports to parents so nothing runs on blind trust.

STEP 5

Application Mastery

2–4 months

Every essay, Statement of Purpose, Letter of Recommendation strategy and resume is crafted to reflect the student's authentic story — not a templated one. Mock interviews prepare them for university admissions and visa interviews. You review every piece before submission; nothing goes out without your sign-off.

STEP 6

Scholarships & Financial Strategy

Parallel with applications

KGC runs scholarship strategy in parallel with applications — identifying merit and need-based awards most families don't know exist, crafting financial aid applications and helping negotiate offers. You receive a clear financial plan with loan options (SBI, HDFC Credila, Prodigy Finance) and EMI structures you can actually live with.

STEP 7

Offer Evaluation & Visa

1–2 months

When offers arrive, Dr. Karan helps compare them on what actually matters — career outcomes, scholarship value and ROI — not just global rankings. Visa documentation and interview preparation follow. KGC students have a near-100% visa success rate across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Germany.

STEP 8

Pre-Departure & Beyond

Ongoing

Accommodation guidance, pre-departure orientation and continued support after the student lands. KGC alumni already at the destination university help incoming students settle in. The relationship does not end at the offer letter — many families come back years later for a sibling, or for the student's own Masters/MBA after work experience.

What this process guarantees — and what it doesn't

What you can count on

  • Dr. Karan Gupta personally oversees strategy — no junior counsellor handoff
  • Zero commission from any university, ever — written guarantee
  • Three licensed psychometric instruments, not a generic quiz
  • You approve the university shortlist before anything gets applied to
  • Quarterly written progress reports during the mentorship programme
  • Near-100% visa success rate across the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Germany

What no one can promise

  • A specific admit at a specific reach university — admissions are probabilistic
  • That your first-choice course will always be the right choice — psychometrics sometimes say otherwise
  • That studying abroad is always the right call — for some families, Dr. Karan recommends against it
  • A visa outcome — we prep thoroughly, but visa officers have final discretion

We'd rather under-promise than surprise you later.
