What is IELTS?

IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is an international standardized test of English language proficiency for non-native English speakers. It is jointly managed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge Assessment English. Four recorded monologues and conversations. Tests understanding of main ideas, specific information, and opinions.

Three long passages with tasks. Academic uses complex academic texts; General Training uses everyday texts.

Task 1: Describe visual information (Academic) or write a letter (General). Task 2: Essay on a point of view.

Face-to-face interview with an examiner covering personal topics, a cue card topic, and abstract discussion.
