Taiwan’s growing appeal as an international study destination is something I've been watching closely, especially given the rising costs of education in more traditional study-abroad countries like the US or the UK. This 17% increase in international enrolment signifies that Taiwan is becoming an attractive option for Indian students who are cost-conscious but still eager for quality education. Over my 27 years in guiding students, I've seen that affordability should not mean compromising on quality, and Taiwan seems to strike a good balance with its robust programs in high-tech fields and comprehensive language courses. Additionally, Taiwan's geopolitical stability and high quality of life make it a compelling choice for parents concerned about their child’s safety abroad. Students tapping into Taiwan's educational landscape will also benefit from its diverse student body, enhancing their global networking opportunities—a vital component in today's interconnected world. My advice to students is to start by thoroughly researching Taiwan’s higher education institutions and prioritize identifying programs that align with their career goals. Scholarships are plentiful, so take advantage of these to offset costs even further. I also recommend reaching out to alumni or current students who can provide candid insights. By carefully assessing these elements, Indian students can find a valuable and cost-effective destination in Taiwan for their higher education pursuits.
